Oh yes. At last we are one. Except we aren’t.
Fate is of course, a cruel mistress. Pity the irony that the day I finally find Shipyard Pumpkinhead I contract the world’s fastest-incubating virus. There is too much fluid draining down the back of my throat and out of my nose that the thought of drinking anything cold is repulsive. I need to be in top form to crack open these babies.
Let’s review. I have procured the following pumpkin beers this month:
- Uinta Punk’n
- Buffalo Bill’s Original Pumpkin Ale
- Indian Wells Spicy Pumpkin Ale
- Wasatch Pumpkin Ale
- Lakefront Pumpkin Lager
- Dogfish Head Punk
- New Belgium KICK
- Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat
- Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin
- Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale
- Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale
That leaves only Michelob Jack’s Pumpkin Ale and Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin. Both of which I remember being mediocre, so no rush. I also plan to make it out to Four Peaks and Papago breweries to sample what they have straight from the tap. Assuming I follow through on all this, that’ll be 15 types of pumpkin beer consumed in one Halloween season. A spectacular improvement on last year’s total of six.
I’ve been cataloging my impressions of each one as I get ’em, and a comprehensive review will be posted once I have them all.
I’m also holding on to a couple of bottles of each one, the purpose of which I’m keeping close to the vest…. for now.
I didn’t know you could get that shit outside of Maine(New England)
