I’ve spoken often in the past of biting off more than I can chew. Of course, year after year, my mouth turns out to be capable of chewing a lot more than I realized. While I’m expecting this year to be no different, I still had the thought, as Becky and I were unrolling 10-foot sheets of black weatherproofing plastic to cover the living room walls, that we’ve truly gone too far.
It is October 6th. 20 days left until the Camp Awesome Halloween Hootenanny. The list of things left to do is massive. Utterly massive. And this list, compiled solely of things that we’ve committed to do just for the party (and for the first time, Halloween itself), doesn’t include all the fun activities that I hold as tradition for the Halloween season. Carving the pumpkins, going to haunted houses, watching horror movies. Relaxing.
I will make time for all of those things of course. But for now, I wanted to share some pics documenting the state of my Halloween as it is now, in early October. I wanted to do this for three reasons: To make up for last year, when I somehow managed to take ZERO pictures of my gloriously decorated house; To show the beautiful people who have donated to the party fund that I’m not just drinking away their money in the form of pumpkin beer; And to hopefully remind anyone who is still planning to donate that such an act would be well appreciated at this point.
