Film Critic Hulk (or as his blog is titled, FILM CRIT HULK SMASH) is one of my favorite pop culture writers. He firmly sticks to the gimmick of writing all his articles “as” The Hulk – in all caps, in the third person and occasionally with transitory verbs omitted. But the sooner you get past that, the better. He writes truly in-depth, analytical articles that sometimes seem like they will be over-reaching, but always justify the deeper criticism he presents.
He posted a nice (if not characteristically in-depth) review of Poltergeist, my favorite horror movie. He had missed out on seeing the film until this year, and caught it at a film festival screening the Summer movies of 1982 (an awesome year for movies). Check it out:
